The perception of pain in the two sexes is different, though each individual has a different pain threshold. Women are more sensitive, in spite of men complain more, and the origin of this difference lies with the testosterone, typically male hormone, which helps to dampen the sensation of pain by increasing the concentration of enkephalins which are natural painkillers produced by the body. Everything seems to have an explanation related to the evolution of species: the particular strength of the men made it to the pain the same more resistant in the fighting and racing in ancient times, when fighting for the conquest of a territory or food and as a parking lot or the latest version of the playstation ! This study, conducted by Ed Keogh, a psychologist at the University of Bath was carried out by assessing the responses of a number of volunteers treated with the same pain stimuli.
