Driving Hermann Hesse

Montagnola the charming hamlet of Golden Hill, the town of canton Ticino, a short distance from Lake Lugano, the Nobel Prize for Literature Hermann Hesse spent the last 43 years of his life, giving birth to masterpieces such as Siddhartha, The Glass Bead Game and Narcissus and Goldmund . And it is in the nucleus of Montagnola that about ten years ago in the Tower Camuzzi has been set up and inaugurated a permanent exhibition that traces the main stages of his life. This exhibition, presented in two languages, allows visitors access to the world and to 'work Hermann Hesse through the display of personal items, many photographs, books and watercolors. Particularly interesting also are the weekly readings in two languages, conferences, lectures, concerts, exhibitions and guided walks. What I want to stress is a particularly interesting exhibition consists of letters, documents, photographs and watercolors that illustrate the relationship between the great writer, which would be more appropriate to define an artist, and his psychoanalyst Josef Bernhard Lang : an evolving relationship that has evolved from doctor-patient relationship to a deeper friendship in which the roles are reversed and exchanged.
